Terms and Conditions of Use

1. What is Lynko

Lynko is a service that lets you create short links from long URLs. We also try to make the web a bit safer by checking links before they're shared or clicked.

2. Using the Service

You can use Lynko freely, whether as a guest or (in the future) with an account. We just ask that you:

• don't shorten links that lead to illegal or harmful content
• don't use it to send spam, phishing, or scams
• don't try to hack the system or use it in unintended ways

We do our best to keep the service running smoothly, but since we're still in an early phase, things might occasionally break. If they do, we appreciate your patience ❤️

Moderation and Content Policy

We may automatically or manually disable short links that appear to violate our guidelines. We use security checks (e.g. Google Safe Browsing, Web Risk) and may act on user reports. If you believe your link was disabled in error, you can contact us to ask for a review. We do not guarantee response times but aim to handle disputes fairly.

3. Account (if you decide to register)

You can use Lynko without registering. If in the future you decide to create an account, you'll be responsible for any activity under it. Keep your password safe and don't share it with others.

When you register, we'll process your personal data (like email) in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the GDPR. You'll have full rights over your data, including access, correction, and deletion.

4. Link Safety

We check links using automated services like Google Safe Browsing or Google Web Risk, but we can't guarantee that every URL is 100% safe. Trust... but verify 😉

5. Limitation of Liability

We do our best, but:

• the service is provided "as-is" and "as available"
• we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free
• we're not liable for content behind shortened links, or for any damage resulting from their use
• we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose
• in no event shall Lynko be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our total liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. Data and Privacy

Currently, we don't collect personally identifiable data, as there's no user registration at this time. Link statistics are fully anonymous, both for guests and for any future registered users. They are used solely for technical purposes and to improve the service (e.g., click count, time of day, generic referrer).

We do NOT collect or store:

• IP addresses
• full user agents
• persistent or personal identifiers

We process anonymous analytics data based on our legitimate interest in improving the service. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Even if we don't collect personal data right now, you still have the right to know:

• what data we collect and why
• how to access, correct, or delete it (if applicable)
• how to contact us about your privacy rights

7. Future Changes

Lynko will (hopefully!) grow, and these terms may change. If we make any important updates, we'll post a clear notice on our website, and notify registered users (if any) via email. Where appropriate, we'll give you at least 15 days' notice before changes take effect.

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, and content related to Lynko are the property of Lynko or its licensors.

By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, display, and redirect the URLs you shorten. You retain any rights over the original content linked, but you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share those URLs.

If you believe a shortened link on Lynko infringes your intellectual property, contact legal@lynko.it for takedown requests.

9. Legal stuff

Lynko is an Italian project 🇮🇹
These terms are governed by Italian law. For disputes, the competent court is in Milan.
