Privacy Policy: Transparency and Anonymity with Lynko Privacy First, Always

At Lynko, your privacy is our top priority. We are committed to providing a URL shortening service that is not only efficient, but also designed to safeguard your data. This page clearly explains how we protect your identity, ensuring that all click statistics are anonymous, aggregated, and never involve the processing of personal or identifiable information.

At Lynko, we keep things simple and safe. Your data stays private - stats are fully anonymous and never linked to you.

Our Fundamental Privacy Principles

We designed Lynko around fundamental pillars for protecting your data:

  • Data Minimization

We collect only the strictly necessary statistical information to provide you with useful analytics on your links’ performance, with no excess.

  • No Processing of Personal Data

With Lynko, IP addresses, full User-Agents, cookies, or other persistent identifiers are never collected or processed that could be traced back to you.

  • No Cross-Session or Cross-Link Tracking

Our measurements are isolated: we do not perform any tracking that follows users across different sessions or multiple links.

  • Completely Anonymous Data

All data collected for statistics is anonymous and in no way attributable to individual persons. Your browsing remains private.

Statistics We Collect (Always GDPR Compliant)

To provide you with useful analytics without compromising privacy, we collect the following aggregated statistics:

  • Total Clicks

A simple incremental count of every time your short link is clicked. It measures total traffic, but is not linked to any specific user.

  • Time Slot and Day of the Week

We aggregate the volume of clicks by time intervals and days. This helps you understand collective usage trends for your link.

  • Referrer (Simple Domain)

We record only the referring domain (e.g. `twitter.com`), removing any parameter, path, or specific identifier. Useful for general analysis of traffic sources.

  • Browser and Operating System (Generic Category)

Extraction of main categories such as Chrome, Firefox, Android, iOS. This technical statistic is useful in aggregate form and does not allow any fingerprinting.

What Lynko NEVER Collects

  • IP addresses
  • Full User-Agents
  • Cookies, localStorage, fingerprinting
  • Persistent or tracking identifiers
  • Precise geolocation data

In summary: we do not store anything that could identify or track you. Your browsing and your click data remain private.

Data Management and Retention

  • Links Shortened by Guest Users (Unregistered)

Statistics associated with links created without registration are subject to an automatic deletion system via TTL (Time To Live), based on the expiration set for the link itself. After this period, the data is deleted.

  • Registered User Links

For registered users, statistics are retained until the user decides to delete the specific link. No TTL is applied, giving you full control over your data.

Technical Details of Our Implementation

We designed Lynko’s entire infrastructure with privacy at its core. All statistical data is managed through a high-efficiency asynchronous system, ensuring robustness and scalability in data collection. Our storage solutions are inherently secure and resilient, with strong>data-at-rest encryption as standard.

We avoid processing or storing any information that could be linked to identifiable individuals.

Our priority is to keep every data point anonymous and protected from the moment it is generated.

Our Commitment to Privacy by Design

Through strict data minimization and anonymization, the information Lynko collects is never linked to individuals — not even indirectly. As a result:

  • No personal data is collected, so no consent is required.
  • No tracking cookies or identifiers are used on our platform.
  • No invasive banners or disclosures are necessary.

Our privacy-first architecture ensures you can shorten and share links with full confidence.
